Organising devices for your event

The director profile is the login you’ll use to create and manage events, series, and view the Head judge page during events. It is the login you used when first signing up to LiveHeats and creating your organisation account, or one that was added by another Director in your organisation. Once logged in as a Director, you will arrive on the My events page. From here, you can create and manage events. LiveHeats offers three ways to create events. While you can import, or add entries into your event, the easiest and best way is to use Liveheats' event registration feature. If you use LiveHeats registration feature, athletes will automatically appear in the seed list (entry list) once they have registered, so you do not have to add them. If you're using another registration method, you can add names manually to each division as described below, or you can import your athlete list into the event by uploading a CSV file. You can also use the "Add athlete" or "Add team" feature even if yFew readersImporting your athlete list
If you don't use Liveheats for athlete registration, you can quickly import your whole event's athlete list into your Liveheats event by uploading a single CSV file. You can set or edit the jersey colours at any time, or allocate bib numbers once your athletes are in the seed list. Each division in your event will be set to a template. Templates provide a pre defined settings for scoring and draw formats. When you have all the athletes in the seed list, you are ready to generate and customise the draw. How to draw heats Go to the Event dashboard, and click the Draw heats button Note: this will close registration and build a draw for all divisions. You can also draw heats for a specific division by clicking into that division from the Event dashboardFew readersOrganising the schedule / running order
Once the draw is created, your next step is to order the heats or runs into order on your schedule. You can also edit the schedule at any time during the competition. Follow the steps below to set up or edit your schedule. How to organise the event schedule When on the Event dashboard, click Schedule from the menu on the left On the schedule you can now use your mouse, or finger to drag and drop the heats into order. Once you've set up the draw and schedule, you can now publish this to your athletes and spectators, so they can view it on the web. Each event on Liveheats has a status. The status will update automatically at certain stages, for example it will change to Live when the first heat or run is started. Once you've generated the draw, LiveHeats will give each round a default name (e.g. Semi final or Final). You can rename any round in your draw except for the final, for example, renaming the Semi final to Qualification. This article describes how. In some cased you might need to delete a round in your draw. You can delete any round before it has been started, and the below describes how.
