To score a heat, either via the judge's devices, or as a Head judge or recorder, the heat or run needs to be started. Once the heat or run has been scored, it can be ended, which finalises the results and progresses the competitors to the next round. Once a heat has been started by the Director, each judge's scorecard will become active. They can then enter, edit, and remove scores for each athlete's ride. LiveHeats operates in the "cloud", meaning that the timer uses the internet time for the heat countdown timer and the schedule timer. A common issue faced by organisers is seeing the wrong time on the countdown or schedule when the computer or device they are using for LiveHeats is not set to use Internet time or automatic time update. When running live judging on Liveheats, you will have a set number of judges on each panel - for example 3, 4 or 5 judges. Our minimum number of judges setting allows you to set the panel size, so that the average score is only calculated and shown to the public and head judge once all judge's scores are entered. Do the devices used for scoring need to be connected to the internet? Yes, each device needs to have an internet connection, which can be achieved via Wifi, or via the device's own 3G, 4G, or 5G.
