How to use Liveheats' digital heat siren audio
Shopping list
To run the Liveheats digital siren clearly and reliably at the beach, you’ll need four main components:
- Laptop or tablet - This should be the same device you use to start and stop heats on Liveheats. Make sure it has an audio output and remains unlocked during use.
- Speaker - Any powerful PA speaker with combo XLR/TRS inputs will work well. Speak with your local AV supplier about the best option for your event, taking into account distance to the water and expected weather conditions.
- Mixer - A PA mixer is essential to boost the siren volume and balance it with other audio sources like microphones or background music. It also gives you individual control over each input’s volume.
- Cables - You’ll need to connect the laptop or tablet to the mixer, and the mixer to your speaker. Your AV specialist can advise on the exact cables based on your specific devices and connections.

Using the siren audio at your event
- After testing, ensure the device connected to the speaker is unlocked and has no sleep timer set. The device must have the browser page open for the audio to sound
- Unmute the audio by clicking on the audio icon:

- When you start the heat, a 1-honk siren will sound
- When there's 5 minutes remaining, there will be a jingle
- When the timer reaches 00:00, a 2-honk siren will sound
