FIS seeding & start order for Park & Pipe events
LiveHeats now applies FIS seeding and start order logic automatically for Park & Pipe events in the disciplines Slopestyle, Halfpipe, Rail Jam and Big Air formats. This includes the latest FIS group randomisation rules. FIS seeding and start order are available both in startlist and heat mode.
Importing athletes into Liveheats
There are 2 ways for you to inform the system how to correctly create a start order according to FIS rules:
- Import athletes including FIS points
- Import athletes including event seed
FIS Points:
You can add a column to your csv names 'FIS points' where you populate the athletes' FIS points. Below is an example of what your csv could look like:

You can use the event importer if you have all divisions in one csv (as above) or the division level importer if you have your division entries in individual csvs.
When uploaded, the system will correctly seed your athletes according to their FIS points and create the start order.

Seeds:
If you have already seeded your athletes, you can upload your entries with a column with their seed for the event, and the system will use them to create the start order.
Group randomisation & start order
According to FIS rules for world level events, the start order is broken down into so-called randomisation groups. The heat or startlist is broken down into groups according to athletes' seed and the start oder within these groups is randomised. The default groups according to the FIS rules and in Liveheats are as follows:
Group 1: Seed 1 - 10
Group 2: Seed 11 - 20
Group 3: Seed 21 - 30
However, it is also possible to customise the size of these randomization groups in the divisions settings, or remove randomisation altogetehr under division settings.

You can change the size groups under advanced settings or remove randomisation:

Creating the draw
Once you have uploaded your entries and defined your group sizes, you can hit 'Draw Heats' and the system will create the heats/startlist including the start order according to FIS rules. The correct draw according to FIS rules is also applied for any subsequent rounds (Semifinal & Final).
