Exporting results to XML for submission to FIS

LiveHeats is excited to announce that we now support exporting your event division results in XML for submission to FIS. We've also added support for all the FIS required information, so you don't have to edit or manipulate the XML, just run your event on LiveHeats and export! This article contains:

How to export results into XML

Note: LiveHeats will convert the full name of each athlete in the system to First name and Last name in the export. For this to work, be sure the profiles of your athlete is stored in LiveHeats as "First name Last name", e.g. "Chris Friend". If your athletes have two first names, use a hyphen to join them, e.g. "Sarah-Louise Friend".

  1. In the Event settings > Registration tab, scroll down to Registration form and ensure the following fields have been activated:
  • FIS Code (free text/number, set at athlete level)
  • Gender (dropdown with two options: M and W, set at athlete level)
  1. Once those athlete fields are active in your event, ensure each athlete has the information associated with their profile, during event registration or import
  2. You can ensure that information is stored with the athlete by clicking them in the athletes tab within each event division. You can add that information by clicking Edit:

  1. The next step is to add the FIS information to each event division. From the Event dashboard, click the Division > Division settings and scroll down to Custom fields, and enter the FIS required information, and click Save:

  1. Repeat this process for each division in your event that you'd like to export FIS results for
  2. Once your event is complete, go to the Reports section which is located on the Tool Bar (left side) and click Download on the FIS Results - {Division name} (XML):

  1. This will download the file, or open the XML in your web browser. Right click and select Save as to download to your device. Save the file name as CountryCodex. ie: - USA6577.xml.
  2. Once you've downloaded your XML file, you can then submit to FIS via email

Common questions

Does LiveHeats automatically place athletes in heats as per FIS rules?

Not yet, this is something we're going to add soon. For now you can manually adjust using this tool: Customising progression or advancement within a round

Does LiveHeats integrate with FIS API to pull out the latest FIS Points list for seeding?

Unfortunately not, you'll need to get the FIS Points list data from FIS and import or enter their seed into LiveHeats.

Can we see a demo?

Absolutely! Just contact us at sales@liveheats.com

What disciplines are supported?

In the first season, we'll support XML results generations for Big Air (BA), Halfpipe (HP) and Slopestyle (SS) competitions for snowboard and freeski.

Does this require us having to use LiveHeats for live scoring?

No it doesn't. You can enter or upload the results after the competition and just use LiveHeats to generate the XML, however we do recommend giving live scoring a try (it's really easy!)
