Displaying a filter on the public rankings for a Series Ranking

When viewing your rankings, people may be interested in seeing where an athlete is ranked in the Series against a sub-set of athletes. For example:

  • when viewing a global ranking, I'd like to filter for athletes from a particular country or region
  • when viewing a national ranking, I'd like to filter for athletes from a particular state or club

LiveHeats is excited to now offer Ranking filters that allows people viewing your public rankings to filter the rank by a specific athlete property.

Preparation for using our ranking filter feature

In the example image above, the organisation would like to filter the ranking based on Region which is a custom field. Below sets out the steps to prepare for setting up a Ranking filter for Region on the particular series.

  1. Check that the Athlete Field exists as a system or custom field in your organisation. To check, go to any event settings or series settings in your account:

  1. Check that athletes in the events you're publishing to the ranking have a value for the Athlete Field. You can do this in the Athletes & teams area.

Note: the filter will apply to the athlete's value for the custom field at the point in time at which the final result was published to the rankings. This is to ensure that if an athlete's nationality changes in the future, that any historical records do not change. If you're adding a missing athlete field to an athlete, you'll need to re-publish all the events in the Series ranking by switching them from Live to Results Published.
