Adding or transferring an athlete from a club as a team manager
As a team or club manager, you may be required to add or transfer athletes from the club you manage in Liveheats. This article will walk you through how to do these actions.
How to add or transfer an athlete to my club in Liveheats
- Log in to your Liveheats account and navigate to the Athletes page
Note: If you are a team manager for multiple teams, you will navigate to the Teams page and choose which team you want to add the athlete to before following the next steps.
- Click the **Add athlete **button
- Now, enter the athlete's full name into the Full name (first and last name) field. This will begin to search for athletes within the organisation your club is part of (if the organisation is part of a federation, then it will search for athletes within the whole federation)

- If you find the athlete you are looking for, select that athlete's name. All their information will be pre-filled, and you can go to step 6. If not, click the Add as new profile button and move to the next step.
- If you selected to Add as new profile, complete the Date of birth and Email fields, plus any additional fields you may have that are specific to your organisation (e.g SLSA ID).
Please note: If your organisation is using a third party to validate the athlete's eligibility for events (such as SurfGuard), it's important to ensure that all information entered is the same as the third-party system.
- To complete the addition or transfer of an athlete, click the Save button. You will now be able to manage event entries for that athlete.
Additionally, an email will be sent to the address entered, notifying the athlete that they are now part of your club. If a new profile was created, an email will be sent asking them to create a Liveheats account.
